A Note When Adjusting the Glasses of a Patient and it Breaks:

  • Always adjust glasses away from the patient, out of their sight, for this very reason. 

  • Always make sure they sign a consent form before you adjust their glasses, even if the adjustment is "minor." 

  • If it breaks, go back to the patient and be honest. Let them know what happened and express empathy. 

  • If there is a way we can repair the glasses, lets do it. 

  • Do not give the glasses back to the patient without letting them know what happened.
