A Note When Adjusting the Glasses of a Patient and it Breaks:

Always adjust glasses away from the patient, out of their sight, for this very reason.

Always make sure they sign a consent form before you adjust their glasses, even if the adjustment is "minor."

If it breaks, go back to the patient and be honest. Let them know what happened and express empathy.

If there is a way we can repair the glasses, lets do it.

Do not give the glasses back to the patient without letting them know what happened.
